My dealings with Tom Corfield of Irelands have been completely unsatisfactory. I am on one side of two parties selling a small farm. He told me he would copy me into emails and keep me informed of developments, he did no such thing, he just sent the proposal out when he had finished it according to the other parties' wishes. I asked him a very simple question via email and never received a reply, when I rang him he said he had been too busy, he hadn't been too busy to go on Facebook I noticed. He assured me a legal caveat would be in place regarding the farmhouse, that was a lie. He split the land and basic payment scheme entitlements to let the other party keep the BPS, this is against general procedure, he has no proof they own the entitlements and he didn't even tell us. We have all agreed that Spire solicitors should deal with the sale but he put Birketts on the pack as the trustee prefers them, again he didn't tell us. When I've spoken to him he talks at full speed trying to stop me getting a word in, very frustrating, I have to bluntly interrupt him to shut him up for a second. Go to an adult firm instead.
